Font Size Considerations

Top

Many people believe that 12 point fonts are all the same "size", and they "sort-of" are. All 12pt fonts use similar character widths, but they often have different character heights. For example here is the same text in 12pt Arial and 12pt Times New Roman (zoomed in on a Word document).

Notice that the Times New Roman font is shorter! This is NOTHING to do with FX Online, it is just how fonts work.

This issue can cause problems when you mix text and equations.

If you want to mix fonts in FX Online pages, you will probably need to make the font sizes for your text and equations different in order to allow for this effect. Notice that we are mixing 12 pt Arial text with 14pt Times New Roman equations.
